Our UNIQUE distribution network sees the high-quality magazine delivered to local schools where every child takes a copy home to their parents in their book bag. The rest of the magazines are delivered to pre-schools, play gyms, leisure centres, libraries…in fact anywhere you’ll find a gathering of local families!

Mel learned her trade as a newspaper journalist and news editor before entering the world of PR and marketing where she worked as a press officer for West Yorkshire Police and then as North East media and marketing manager for British Transport Police. When her daughter was born Mel wanted a change of lifestyle and now combines two successful businesses with a happy family life. Alongside The Scallymag, she is also the director and co-founder of successful Yorkshire-based company, Integrity PR www.integritypr.co.uk

Mel says: “I’m very proud to be involved in The Scallymag, bringing local news and information to families across Halifax. As a mum I know how hard it can be to juggle out of school or pre-school classes and to be constantly thinking of activities or days out to keep our little ones amused. I like to think The Scallymag helps fuel some ideas and is a good excuse for parents to put their feet up with a cuppa for half an hour and have a good read.

The magazine is also a fantastic place for local businesses to promote their services to families and our regular advertisers are proof that it works for them!
